Pune, June 29: In a shocking case that has drawn nationwide attention, Pune Police have alleged that the death of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agrawal, initially believed to be an accidental fall during a trek at Lohagad Fort, was in fact a carefully planned murder. Investigators claim the conspiracy was hatched by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, along with her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary. Both accused have been arrested and charged with murder and criminal conspiracy. The allegations remain under investigation, and the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

According to police, Ketan and Siya met through an arranged marriage proposal in October 2025, and their families later fixed their engagement. However, investigators allege that Siya continued her relationship with Chetan and the two plotted to eliminate Ketan rather than call off the marriage.

Police claim the duo made multiple attempts before succeeding. An initial plan in early June was reportedly abandoned, while another attempt during a visit to Lohagad Fort allegedly failed when Ketan escaped unharmed.

On June 18, Ketan accompanied Siya to Lohagad Fort. Investigators allege that Chetan was already present at the site and, after receiving a pre-arranged signal from Siya, pushed Ketan into a deep gorge, leading to his death. The incident was initially treated as an accidental fall, but CCTV footage, mobile phone records and witness statements later prompted police to investigate it as a murder.

The accused were arrested on June 23 after police said they found evidence indicating a pre-planned conspiracy. Investigators have since questioned family members, recovered additional evidence and recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort to verify the sequence of events. Police also allege that Chetan attempted to avoid detection by leaving behind his own mobile phone and carrying another person's device during the incident.

The victim's family has demanded the strictest punishment for the accused, while senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam has joined the prosecution team. The investigation is continuing, with forensic reports and digital evidence expected to play a crucial role during the trial.
