Koraput, October 25: A sense of unease has gripped Kunduli Hatapada, situated within the jurisdiction of Pottangi police, in Odisha's Koraput district, following a brutal double murder.

Sources report that a young man from Tema village, identified as Govardhana Pandaka, was on his way home after attending the Ravana Podi celebrations in Kunduli last night. During his journey, he became involved in a dispute with two individuals from Hatapadar, identified as Jogulu Rudi and his son Rajkumar Rudi, over an unspecified issue.

The situation escalated dramatically when the father-son duo allegedly attacked Govardhana with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in his immediate death.

Upon hearing the news of Govardhana's demise, his family members arrived at the scene. Subsequently, the situation intensified as they sought retribution for his killing, leading to the tragic death of Rajkumar.

The area has been fraught with tension following this gruesome incident, prompting a swift police response. Law enforcement officers have taken control of the situation, securing the bodies and arranging for post-mortem examinations.

To ensure law and order and prevent further escalation, an ample police presence has been established at the scene. The Superintendent of Police for Koraput also arrived at the location to address and calm the concerned parties.

An ongoing investigation aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
