Odisha Government transfers IPS Officer Dayal Gangwar to Home Department
Bhubaneswar, May 25: In a significant administrative reshuffle in Odisha, the state government has transferred senior IPS officer Dayal Gangwar from his current post as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Communication, Cuttack, and appointed him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department with immediate effect.
The transfer order was issued by the Home Department on Monday under the signature of Additional Secretary Trilochan Majhi.
Dayal Gangwar, a 1998-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has held several important positions in the state police administration during his career. His latest posting to the Home Department is being viewed as an important administrative assignment within the government setup.
Officials said Gangwar would now function in a key coordination and policy-related role in the Home Department. Though no specific reason has been mentioned for the transfer, the move is being seen as part of a broader bureaucratic reshuffle in the state administration.
Gangwar had been serving as ADGP, Communication, in Cuttack and was responsible for overseeing critical communication and technical operations within the Odisha Police system.
