CM Majhi congratulates BSF Women’s Everest team on historic summit
Bhubaneswar, May 22: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday congratulated the Border Security Force’s first-ever All-Women Mt. Everest Expedition Team for successfully scaling the world’s highest peak, describing the achievement as a proud moment for the country.
In his congratulatory message, the Chief Minister praised the courage, determination and dedication shown by the women mountaineers during the expedition carried out under Mission Vande Mataram. He said the achievement highlighted the spirit of “Nari Shakti” and showcased the immense strength and capability of India’s daughters on the global stage.
The four-member expedition team included Constable Kouser Fatima from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rabeka Singh from Uttarakhand and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil. The team successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, standing at 8,848.86 metres, at around 8 am IST.
In an emotional and historic moment at the summit, the brave women personnel sang the national song “Vande Mataram” together despite the harsh weather and extreme conditions at such a high altitude.
CM Majhi extended his best wishes to the entire BSF expedition team and appreciated their remarkable accomplishment during the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee year.
