Revenue Inspector dies after falling ill amid severe heatwave in Dhenkanal
Bhubaneswar, May 22: A pall of gloom descended over the Revenue Department in Dhenkanal after a young Revenue Inspector reportedly died following severe illness suspected to be linked to the prevailing heatwave conditions in the region.
The deceased has been identified as Chaitanya Dehuri (35), a resident of Maruabil village under Kankadahada block. He was recently promoted and had joined as Revenue Inspector in Gandia Tahasil after previously serving as an Amin in Bhuban Tahasil.
According to sources, Dehuri had been staying in a rented house in Bhuban while discharging his official duties. He reportedly fell seriously ill due to intense summer heat coupled with heavy work pressure over the past few days.
Family members and locals immediately rushed him to Bhuban Government Hospital after his health condition deteriorated. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Bhuban Police have seized the body and initiated an investigation into the incident. Officials said the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed and will only be ascertained after the postmortem examination report is received.
The untimely demise of the young officer has shocked colleagues, local residents and members of the Revenue Department.
