College student found dead in Bhadrak; family alleges murder
Bhubaneswar, May 21: Mystery shrouded the death of a college student whose body was found hanging inside the bathroom of his house in the Charmpa Bazaar area under Bhadrak Town Police Station on Thursday morning. The family of the deceased has alleged that he was murdered and the incident was staged to appear as suicide.
The deceased was identified as Sambit Biswal, a Plus III second-year Commerce student of Charmpa College.
According to family members, Sambit had gone out for a morning walk and returned home as usual. A short while later, his family allegedly discovered his body hanging inside the bathroom located behind the house.
However, the circumstances surrounding the death have raised serious suspicion among relatives. Family members claimed that Sambit’s hands were tied behind his back and a piece of cloth had been stuffed into his mouth. They also questioned the possibility of suicide, pointing out that the towel used for hanging was tied to a hanger barely four to five feet above the ground.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination while a scientific team conducted a detailed forensic inspection of the scene. Further investigation is underway.
