Koraput, Oct 22: A murder case suspect has reportedly escaped from police custody in Odisha's Koraput district on Saturday evening.

According to reports, last year, a man named Bikun from Koraput town went missing after leaving his house with some individuals. When he failed to return home, his family conducted an extensive search but couldn't locate him. Subsequently, they filed a complaint with the Koraput Town police station, accusing Rahul Bagh of Hinaguda in the town of kidnapping Bikun.

Tragically, Bikun's body was discovered in a forest area along Jeypore-Koraput National Highway 26 in Bilaghati. Rahul had been on the run since the day Bikun went missing.

On Saturday, Bikun's family encountered Rahul in town and detained him. They then handed him over to the police. However, within an hour of his apprehension, Rahul managed to escape from the Koraput Town police station, according to sources. Law enforcement has initiated a search operation to locate Rahul.
