Woman murdered by husband in Sundargarh village after domestic dispute
Bhubaneswar, April 18: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a man allegedly murdered his wife following a heated argument in Damkuda village under Talsara Police Station limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Aarti Hembram, while the accused, her husband Rajesh Hembram, has been arrested by the police.
According to preliminary reports, the couple had a history of frequent quarrels. On Friday evening, an argument reportedly broke out between them over the husband’s drinking habit. The situation escalated late at night when, in a fit of rage, the accused allegedly assaulted his wife with a stick and later smashed her head with a stone.
Aarti Hembram succumbed to grievous injuries on the spot. The couple is survived by their two children, who are now left without their mother.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene, detained the accused, and registered a case. The body has been recovered and sent for postmortem examination.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events and other possible factors involved in the crime.
