Sex racket busted in Bhadrak; four customers arrested, two women rescued
Bhubaneswar, April 16: Police in Bhadrak district busted a sex racket by conducting simultaneous raids at two hotels under different police station limits, arresting four customers and rescuing two young women, officials said on Wednesday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team from Bhadrak Sadar police station carried out a raid at a hotel near Rajghat Bridge in the town area. During the operation, one young woman was rescued, and two customers were apprehended from the spot.
In a parallel action, another police team conducted a raid at a hotel near Dhamra Bridge. Here, officials rescued another young woman and arrested two more customers involved in the illegal activity.
Police said the statements of the rescued women have been recorded, and they were sent for medical examination as per standard procedures. Following this, both were safely handed over to their respective families.
The four accused have been forwarded to court, while further investigation is underway to identify others involved and trace possible links to a wider network operating in the area.
