Commercial gas cylinder crisis:Minister assured CAO members not to be panic

Bhubaneswar: The Minister of Food Supplies and Social Welfare Krushna Chandra Patra assured the leaders of the Catering Association of Odisha (CAO) not to be panic here on Monday. In this crisis the Government is aware and working regarding the requirements of all sections of people's of the State.

A delegation of CAO leaders meet the Minister and explain about the current situation.

In this crucial juncture the members of (CAO) faced tough time to run their day-to-day functioning. The most needed component is the commercial gas cylinders. Catering Association of Odisha silently feeds more than 1,00,000 (one Lakh) families in our State (sweeper, cleaner, driver, cooks, semi-skilled and professional workers). Their families are directly dependable with the catering business, said CAO President Binaya Bhusan Patnaik.

"Our members are an important & active part of any social rituals (marriage, thread ceremony, official function and funeral ceremony. etc) to serve the food on your plate. Due to the non-availability of the commercial gas cylinder, many of our members already closed down their business. If such a situation continues the catering industry will completely be shut down. Many a people, who are associated with us will lose their employment" said CAO Secretary Debi Prasad Rath.

The Minister assured that " The Governemnt is going to meet the gas cylinder egencies of the State soon and find out a solution to make available commercial gas cylinder for the CAO members".

The members of Catering Association of Odisha expressed their thanks to the Minister Krushna Chandra Patra for his concern about the situation and his positive response.
