Pipili, Oct 19: A group of individuals reportedly launched an attack on the staff at the Pipili Toll Plaza in Puri, resorting to blank gunfire last night. During the altercation, a toll booth worker sustained injuries.

In response, the police have detained three individuals in connection with the incident and also impounded the vehicle used during the attack. At present, three additional suspects remain at large.

According to initial reports, the incident transpired when six people were traveling from Bhubaneswar to Puri in a car and became embroiled in a dispute with the toll plaza employees over an unspecified matter. The situation escalated when one of the passengers exited the vehicle and physically assaulted a toll booth staff member. Subsequently, two shots were fired into the air before the assailants fled the scene.

Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the location to assess the situation. An investigation into the incident is now underway, with authorities actively working to apprehend the remaining individuals involved, as confirmed by the police.
