CM Majhi approves salary hike for contractual ayush doctors under NHM

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: In a significant move to strengthen AYUSH healthcare services in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a substantial salary hike for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM).

The decision has been taken to acknowledge their vital contribution to the public healthcare system and to encourage them to continue providing quality medical services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

As per the revised pay structure, salaries have been increased based on length of service. Contractual AYUSH doctors with less than five years of experience will now receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs 56,948, following a hike of Rs 20,000. Those serving between five and ten years will draw Rs 74,467 per month after an increase of Rs 25,000.

Doctors with 10 to 15 years of service will now get Rs 80,467 per month with a Rs 30,000 raise, while those with more than 15 years of experience will receive Rs 91,467 after a hike of Rs 40,000.

Around 2,912 AYUSH doctors will benefit from the revision, which will cost the state an additional Rs 1 crore annually, boosting grassroots healthcare delivery.
