Don’t pay bribes for government services, urges Minister Suresh Pujari
Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday made a strong appeal to citizens not to pay bribes for government services, assuring that work will be completed through proper channels without corruption.
Speaking to the media, Pujari stressed that both the giver and the taker of bribes are equally liable under the law. He urged people to remain patient even in urgent situations rather than resorting to illegal payments.
“Even during emergencies, people should not pay money to get their work done. I assure all residents that your work may take time, but do not give bribes to anyone,” he said.
The minister highlighted multiple grievance-redressal platforms available to the public. Citizens can reach out to him directly in Bhubaneswar, through WhatsApp, or by telephone. “Even a missed call will be returned, and complaints can be registered through these channels,” he added.
Pujari also lauded the vigilance department’s crackdown on corruption, noting that several officials have already been caught. He urged people to report bribery demands promptly to him or the vigilance authorities to ensure strict action and transparent governance.
