Odisha govt reshuffles top forest posts, Sanath Kumar N appointed Nandankanan Director
Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: The Odisha government has effected changes in top positions across key forest and environment-related departments, issuing fresh appointments and additional charges to senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers. The reshuffle aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and streamline departmental functioning.
According to official orders issued by the Additional Secretary to the Government by order of the Governor, IFS officer Sanath Kumar N has been appointed as the new Director of Nandankanan Biological Park. Prior to this elevation, he was serving as the Deputy Director of the renowned zoological park. His appointment is expected to bring continuity in conservation efforts and ongoing development initiatives at Nandankanan.
Meanwhile, Manoj V. Nair, IFS, who was serving as the Director of Nandankanan Biological Park, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. He has been given the additional charge of Member Secretary of the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife). The move reflects the government’s confidence in his administrative and technical expertise in handling critical environmental portfolios.
In another decision, G. Rajesh, IFS, will continue to hold the additional charge of Project Director, Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP), Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar.
