IMD predicts gradual rise in night temperatures across Odisha, fog likely in several districts
Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual rise of 2–3°C in minimum temperatures across Odisha over the next two days. After this slight increase, no major change in night temperatures is expected in the following days, bringing some relief from the prevailing cold conditions in the state.
According to the IMD, dry weather is likely to continue across most districts of Odisha. However, shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur during the early morning hours in several parts of the state. Districts likely to experience fog include Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundergarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
The foggy conditions may affect visibility during early hours, especially in low-lying and rural areas, potentially impacting road traffic and daily commuters. The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious while travelling in the morning.
Overall, dry weather will dominate Odisha’s climate, with no major rainfall activity predicted. Weather conditions are expected to remain stable for the coming days.
