Massive rush at Barabati Stadium as women lead early queue for India–South Africa T20 tickets
Bhubaneswar, Dec 5: Hundreds of cricket fans, especially women, thronged the premises of Barabati Stadium in Cuttack early this morning to secure offline tickets for the much-awaited India vs South Africa T20 match scheduled for December 9, 2025. Although the official ticket sale began at 9 am, the excitement was evident much earlier, with eager supporters forming long queues as early as 3.30 am.
Women cricket enthusiasts were at the forefront, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere outside the stadium gates. Many expressed their eagerness to watch Team India in action, calling the upcoming match a rare and thrilling opportunity. “I am very excited for the match. The line started forming at 3.30 am, and the arrangements here are very good,” said one enthusiastic fan as she waited patiently.
Another woman added, “I am here to get tickets for myself and my son, as he is on duty,” highlighting the determination of fans to secure seats despite personal constraints.
With the rising crowd, security personnel were deployed in large numbers to ensure smooth ticket distribution. Authorities also advised fans to carry valid ID proofs during purchase. The overwhelming turnout, especially from women, reflects the growing passion for cricket in Odisha and the excitement surrounding the India–South Africa T20 clash at Barabati Stadium.
