IAF personnel arrested in Bhubaneswar for alleged cheating and sexual exploitation
Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday arrested an Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel after a woman accused him of cheating, sexual exploitation, and breach of trust. The accused has been identified as Gopal Chandra Dixit, a native of Itamati in Nayagarh district, currently serving as ground staff with the Indian Air Force and posted in Ladakh.
According to police sources, the woman had lodged a complaint at Badagada Police Station nearly two weeks ago. In her statement, she alleged that Dixit established a relationship with her by repeatedly promising marriage. Over time, he allegedly exploited her both emotionally and physically, leading her to approach the police for justice. Based on her complaint, a case was registered and an investigation began.
Police received information that Dixit was planning to leave for Ladakh. Acting swiftly, a team conducted a raid in the Market Building area and arrested him on Tuesday. Following the arrest, he was produced before a local court as part of the due legal procedure.
A case had earlier been registered against him on November 6 under Sections 69, 296(B), 351(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which cover offences related to cheating, sexual exploitation, and wrongful intent. The investigation is ongoing.
