Bhubaneswar : A grand Maha Samilani was organised by the Adarsha Vidyalaya Teachers Association (AVTA) at the Railway Auditorium, Chandrasekharpur, where more than 1500 teachers from various blocks and districts across the state participated. Elected portfolio members, Executive Body members and School Representatives were also present in large numbers, marking the event as one of the largest gatherings of OAV teachers.

The meeting was presided over by President Ripudaman Sourav Mishra and regulated by Secretary Subhasis Das. The assembly placed forth a strong and united voice demanding Government status, opening of HRMS IDs, and equal service benefits at par with S&ME High School teachers, along with a 13-point agenda central to the rights and welfare of OAVS employees.

The 13-point charter of demands presented in the meeting included:

2. Implementation of uniform cadre rule that accommodates all employees of OAVS.

3. Equal pay for equal work by implementing ₹4600 grade pay for Music, PET and Computer teachers.

4. Posting of PGT Odia in each school along with PGT Hindi and Sanskrit.

5. Extension of PM SHRI Vidyalaya status for all OAVs.

8. Regularisation of promotion process for all employees including Principals.

9. Regularisation of appointed clerks and appointment of regular clerks in each school.

10. Reinclusion of OAV students for NMMS examination and 15% reservation in NEET & JEE for OAVS students like S&ME high school students.

11. Consideration of previous service and pay protection for teachers joined as PGT from TGT and from S&ME as well as other government services.

12. Change in nomenclature of Art Teacher to TGT Arts.

13. Extension of rehabilitation scheme and death gratuity for OAVS employees.

Addressing the gathering, President Ripudaman Mishra stated that the demands reflect long-pending and rightful expectations of the teaching community. The Maha Samilani concluded with a strong message of unity, determination, and unwavering commitment towards ensuring justice, parity, and dignified service conditions for all members of the Adarsha Vidyalaya system.
