Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: In a major development, the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam case will now be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The announcement was made today by Crime Branch Director General Vinaytosh Mishra, marking a crucial shift in the probe.

Speaking to the media, Mishra said that the formal handover of the case to the CBI will take place soon, and all relevant documents, case files, and evidence collected so far will be transferred to the central agency. “The government has decided to hand over the case to the CBI considering its inter-state ramifications, which require a broader and more coordinated investigation,” he explained.

He further assured that the Odisha Crime Branch will extend full cooperation to the CBI and share all verified evidence, including details about inter-state links identified during the inquiry.

Mishra also emphasized the importance of maintaining factual accuracy in updates, stating, “We have shared only evidence-based information with the media and will continue to do so as the investigation progresses.”
