Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate 84th Indian Roads Congress in Bhubaneswar from November 7
Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to visit Odisha to inaugurate the 84th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), which will be held from November 7 to 10, 2025, at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar.
Confirming the development, Odisha Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said that this will be the sixth time Odisha hosts the prestigious national event. The four-day session is expected to bring together around 2,000 IRC delegates and over 3,500 engineers and chief engineers from across the country. The event will also witness the participation of VVIPs, senior officials, and domain experts from the road and transport sector.
Gadkari, who traditionally inaugurates IRC sessions, is expected to highlight the Union Government’s initiatives in highway expansion, road safety, and adoption of modern technology in infrastructure development.
Harichandan described the event as a significant opportunity for Odisha to showcase its growing role in national infrastructure advancement. The session will feature academic presentations from IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT Rourkela, and other institutions, focusing on innovations, successful projects, and emerging strategies in India’s road and transport sector.
