Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan appeals for peace as normalcy returns to Cuttack after violence

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Monday assured that normalcy is gradually being restored in Cuttack following the recent outbreak of violence in the city. Addressing the media, Harichandan urged residents to maintain peace and uphold the dignity of the millennium city.
“The situation in Cuttack is steadily improving after the recent unrest. The police are taking all necessary steps to maintain order. The Chief Minister has also appealed to citizens to preserve peace and harmony. We must ensure that no act tarnishes the image of Cuttack or Odisha,” the minister said. He emphasized that the government remains on high alert and will take stringent action against anyone found responsible for the disturbances.
Harichandan further appealed to the public to channel their emotions positively and contribute to restoring calm.
It may be recalled that a violent clash had erupted at Dargah Bazaar during the Durga Puja idol immersion procession on October 3, leaving four people, including Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, injured. Police have so far arrested eight individuals in connection with the incident.
