Fake website duping devotees with Srimandir puja services busted in Puri

Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: In a major crackdown on cyber fraud, the Puri Police have busted a fake website named Pujapariseva.com, which was allegedly duping devotees of Lord Jagannath by offering fraudulent online puja services. Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) Prateek Singh informed that the website was luring unsuspecting devotees by advertising special pujas at Srimandir for as much as ₹7,500, along with varying charges for different rituals.
Reports suggest that the fraudulent portal showcased four types of pujas—Abhishek Puja, Tulsi Daan Puja, General Darshan, and special rituals for Lord Jagannath and His siblings. It further claimed to arrange Sukhuli Bhog offerings and even promised direct darshan facilities, thereby deceiving devotees with false assurances.
Taking serious note of the matter, SP Singh said the district cyber team has already been alerted to block the website and initiate an investigation. He strongly appealed to devotees not to trust such unauthorized platforms and to verify services only through official temple administration channels.
“Devotees should remain cautious and avoid fake websites. Strict action will be taken against those exploiting religious faith for monetary gain,” Singh reiterated.
