CM Mohan Charan Majhi launches ‘Ama Shasana’ to strengthen citizen-centric governance

Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday launched ‘Ama Shasana’ (Our Governance), a flagship public service initiative designed to deepen citizen engagement and ensure better implementation of welfare schemes through direct feedback mechanisms.
The programme was formally inaugurated at Lok Seva Bhawan in the presence of cabinet ministers and senior officials. A dedicated web portal — www.amashasana.odisha.gov.in — was also unveiled, enabling citizens to share their views on the execution of various government initiatives.
Calling it a mission rather than just a scheme, CM Majhi said the initiative reflects the government’s vision of transparency, accountability, and people-driven governance. Citizens can now register grievances or share suggestions through a toll-free helpline (14471) or WhatsApp (7400221903). Ministers, including the Chief Minister, will also make random calls to beneficiaries to hear their experiences directly.
During the launch, Majhi personally interacted with several beneficiaries. A girl student who had received ₹5,000 under the Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme shared that she used the money to buy books, stationery, and essentials. The CM assured her that any irregularities in disbursement would be addressed immediately. He also spoke to a beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY scheme, asking about his hospital experience.
“This is a people’s government, guided by the people’s voice,” the Chief Minister’s Office later posted on social media platform X, underlining the transformative intent of Ama Shasana.
