Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) on Monday announced the marquee players for the inaugural edition of the Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL), which is set to make its debut in September.

Six dynamic teams, representing different regions of the state, will compete in the franchise-based tournament. The marquee list features some of Odisha’s most accomplished cricketers—Subhranshu Senapati, Swastik Samal, Govinda Poddar, Sandeep Pattnaik, Aashirwad Swain, and Suryakant Pradhan.

According to OCA, each franchise will be built around these marquee players, combining experience and star value with young emerging talent. OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera said, “We are proud to introduce our marquee players, who have carried Odisha’s cricketing flag with distinction. Their inclusion will inspire the next generation and provide a strong foundation for the league.”

The OPTL has been designed as a premier platform to nurture talent and raise the standard of competitive cricket in the state. With high-intensity matches and wide exposure, the league aims to provide players with an opportunity to showcase their skills on a bigger stage.

To ensure smooth planning and professional execution, OCA has partnered with Arivaa Sports, which has successfully managed similar leagues in Bengal, Vidarbha, and Saurashtra.
