Bhubaneswar, July 18: In a horrifying incident, a youth was brutally murdered in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, late last night after he tried to stop a group of miscreants from stealing a motorcycle. The crime occurred in Masjid Basti under the jurisdiction of Bharatpur Police Station, leaving the local community in shock.

The deceased has been identified as Kailash Nayak, a resident of the area. According to reports, four armed miscreants broke into Kailash's house late at night with the intention of stealing a bike. On spotting the intruders, Kailash raised an alarm and attempted to stop them. Enraged by his resistance, the looters stabbed him multiple times and then brutally assaulted him, leading to his death on the spot.

Soon after receiving the information, a team from Bharatpur Police Station arrived at the scene, seized the body, and initiated an investigation. Forensic experts were also called in for further examination.

Police have launched a manhunt to identify and arrest the culprits. The brutal murder has sparked outrage among locals, who are demanding strict action and increased night patrolling.
