No fuel shortage in Odisha, assures Minister amid drivers’ strike; action against black marketing warned

Bhubaneswar, July 10: Amid growing public concern over fuel scarcity due to the ongoing 'Quit Steering Wheel' agitation by the Odisha Driver Mahasangh, Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has assured that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the state. He emphasized that the fuel supply situation is gradually stabilizing as oil tankers have started reaching key locations.
Addressing the media, the minister stated, “There is no crisis of petrol or diesel in Odisha at present. The situation is improving steadily. The government is engaging with the agitating drivers to resolve their demands amicably. So far, 150 oil tankers have reached Bhubaneswar and 76 have arrived in Cuttack, and fuel is being supplied to other cities as well.”
Patra further issued a stern warning against black marketing of fuel, saying strict action will be taken against those hoarding or selling fuel illegally.
The drivers’ strike, now in its third day, has disrupted fuel and LPG supplies across Odisha, creating panic among consumers. The state government continues to monitor the situation closely to prevent further inconvenience.
