Odisha Police gears up for safe and seamless Rath Yatra; DGP reviews Command Centre, launches WhatsApp ChatBot

Bhubaneswar, June 26: With the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath around the corner, the Odisha Police is undertaking extensive preparations to ensure the safety and convenience of lakhs of devotees.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania recently visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Puri to review security arrangements. During his inspection, he directed senior police officers to implement all necessary measures to maintain public order and ensure a peaceful celebration.
The Odisha Police emphasized that meticulous planning, coordinated efforts, and advanced technological support are at the core of their strategy to make the Rath Yatra smooth and secure. Taking to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the department shared updates on the DGP’s visit and ongoing preparations.
In a tech-forward move, the police have launched a WhatsApp ChatBot to help devotees navigate the city efficiently. The bot provides real-time traffic updates and guidance for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and buses. Devotees are urged to use this service and cooperate with on-ground traffic personnel for smooth movement.
This initiative reflects the department’s broader aim of using technology to enhance crowd management and public safety during this grand spiritual event.
