Odisha Tourism Minister reassures safety amid US travel advisory

Bhubaneswar, June 23: In response to the recent US State Department's Level 2 travel advisory urging American citizens to "exercise increased caution" while visiting India—including certain parts of Odisha—Tourism Minister Pravati Parida on Monday firmly assured that the state remains a safe and welcoming destination for international tourists.
Addressing the media, Minister Parida stated, “I have reviewed the arrival data of US tourists in Odisha over the past three days, and the numbers are currently negligible. While the advisory cites concerns about crime and terrorism in select regions, I believe such statements might be influenced by India’s accelerating development, which could be seen as a strategic challenge by some countries.”
She emphasized that there is no cause for alarm in Odisha or other Indian states. “US citizens are welcome here, and the law and order situation in our state is fully under control,” she said.
Highlighting the role of effective governance, Parida added, “The Mohan Majhi-led government is ensuring safety and stability in Odisha. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India continues to be a secure nation for global travelers.”
