OMFED announces milk price hike from June 12; Government to bear partial cost

Bhubaneswar, June 21: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has announced a price revision for its various milk variants, effective from June 12, 2025. The hike comes in response to rising production and procurement costs, aiming to ensure fair compensation to dairy farmers while maintaining product quality.
Under the revised rates, Toned Milk will now be sold at Rs 50 per litre, up by Rs 2. Premium Milk will be priced at Rs 54 per litre, also reflecting a Rs 2 increase. The Gold Premium variant will cost Rs 56 per litre, marking a Rs 4 hike, while the Gold Premium+ milk will now be available at Rs 60 per litre.
Here’s the new price structure:
Toned Milk: Rs 50/litre (up by Rs 2)
Premium Milk: Rs 54/litre (up by Rs 2)
Gold Premium Milk: Rs 56/litre (up by Rs 4)
Gold Premium+ Milk: Rs 60/litre
In a relief to consumers, the Odisha government will bear Rs 2 of the increased price across all variants, while the remaining burden will be passed on to buyers. The move reflects OMFED’s efforts to balance the interests of both dairy producers and consumers amid market fluctuations.
