CM Majhi launches 'Bikash Vahan Yatra' to mark one year in office, highlight achievements

Bhubaneswar, June 12: To commemorate one year of governance, the Odisha government on Wednesday launched the Bikash Vahan Yatra, a statewide outreach initiative, from Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off the event, describing it as a significant step toward inclusive governance and enhanced public participation.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, “In a democracy, people are the true authority. With the double-engine government in Odisha, development is moving at double the speed. This Yatra is both a celebration of our achievements and a medium to connect directly with citizens.”
The Bikash Vahan Yatra will cover all 314 blocks, 115 Notified Area Councils (NACs), and 5 Municipal Corporations, distributing the government’s report card titled Pragati Pravah, alongside informative booklets and audio-visual content on welfare schemes.
Highlighting achievements in sectors like women’s empowerment, tribal welfare, youth development, agriculture, and industry, Majhi stated, “From villages to cities, a wave of hope is transforming Odisha.”
Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik called the initiative a “new chapter” in Odisha’s journey towards becoming a developed state. Senior officials and public representatives were also present at the launch.
