Bhubaneswar, June 11: Tension gripped Manapali village under Govindpur police station limits in Sambalpur district after a 25-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit near his house on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kujur, a resident of Ladrapada village. He had recently returned home from Surat, where he was working for the past few years. Locals spotted his body lying near his residence early in the morning and alerted the police.

Initial investigation suggests that Ashok’s throat was slit with a sharp weapon, and his body was dumped near his house by unidentified miscreants before they fled the spot. The brutal nature of the crime has shocked the local community.

Govindpur police reached the scene, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. While the exact motive remains unclear, police have registered a case and launched a thorough investigation to identify and nab the culprits behind the murder.
