Youth found murdered in Mayurbhanj village

Bhubaneswar, June 10: A chilling discovery was made on Tuesday morning near a local market in Upisahi village, under Kaptipada police limits, where the mutilated body of a youth was found. The deceased has been identified as Manik Singh, a resident of nearby Dholagandi village, whose lifeless remains were recovered near the weekly market, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to initial reports, Singh had reportedly visited the market on Monday but never returned home, causing concern among his family. It was locals who, on Tuesday morning, stumbled upon his body and promptly informed his family members, who then rushed to the scene to identify him.
Preliminary examinations of the body suggest a brutal attack, with visible stab wounds on the back of Singh's head, indicating he was assaulted with a sharp weapon. The nature of the injuries points towards a probable murder.
Upon receiving the information, police personnel from the Kaptipada station swiftly arrived at the crime scene. They secured the area, recovered Singh's body, and dispatched it for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause and time of death.
