Two minor girls allegedly gang-raped, police launch manhunt in Ganjam

Bhubaneswar, June 6: Tragic news has emerged from Ganjam district, Odisha, where two minor girls were allegedly gang-raped within the limits of the Golanthara police station. The horrific incident came to light after the victims' distraught families filed a complaint with the police, triggering an urgent manhunt for the perpetrators.

Sources indicate that the two young girls had attended a marriage function on June 3rd but disappeared shortly thereafter. Their families immediately launched a frantic search and soon learned that two youths present at the event had allegedly lured the girls away from the celebration. Miraculously, the girls managed to return to their families and bravely recounted their harrowing ordeal.

The victims revealed that four youths allegedly abducted them, taking them to an undisclosed location where they were held captive and reportedly sexually assaulted before being abandoned in a secluded area. Following intense discussions with local villagers, the families lodged a formal complaint against the four accused on the evening of June 4th.

The victims are scheduled for crucial medical examinations today, Friday, to collect vital evidence. The Ganjam Superintendent of Police has unequivocally assured swift and stringent action against those responsible.
