Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhubaneswar established in 1981, under the aegis of Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Odisha has been instrumental in providing quality education embedded with human values to a generation of women over the years.  To equip the students with contemparary skills, the Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Odisha is setting up a Skill Development Centre exclusively for Women in the campus at the behest of the institution.  On 29^th September 2023, the foundation stone for the skill development centre was laid by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Prof. Sri Ganesh Lal Ji.  The proposed skill development centre is spread over an area of over 14000 square feet and will cater to the capacity  building of the  students in the fields of Data handling, fashion designing, food processing, organic farming among others in the 1^st phase.  

This event was graced by Sri R.J.Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam.  Among the invited guests were Sri.Jasti Krishna Kishore, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Karnataka & Goa.  The event was attended by Dignitaries from  Corporate sector, Government of Odisha and many eminent persons.

In His address, Hon’ble Governor stressed up to the need to impart self confidence to the young women and praised the institution for such a  noble initiative.

Sri. R.J.Ratnakar stressed upon the importance Sri Sathya Sai Baba gave to imparting of all round education to the young women for Nation building.  Dr Sathya Swaroop Patnaik, State President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Odisha called upon the gathering to strive to uphold the dictum of Baba for the uplifitment of the girl students.  Over 500 people attended the programme.
