Security tightened at Paradip Port as ship with 21 Pakistani crew members docks

Bhubaneswar, May 14: Security has been heightened at Paradip Port after the arrival of MT Siren II, a Hong Kong-flagged vessel carrying 21 Pakistani crew members. The ship, reportedly transporting 135 tons of unrefined oil from South Korea, is currently docked at the Single Point Mooring (SPM) berth, located approximately 20 km off the Paradip coast.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the Immigration Department has alerted the Marine Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Coast Guard, and Customs authorities. All concerned agencies have been instructed to remain on high alert and closely monitor the movement of the ship and its crew during the vessel’s stay.
The Immigration Department has issued clear directives to ensure that none of the Pakistani nationals aboard the ship are allowed to disembark at any point. The offloading of oil will be carried out under strict surveillance, with security personnel stationed around the berth.
Officials confirmed that the ship will remain under continuous watch until the oil is fully unloaded and the vessel departs. The coordinated effort is aimed at preventing any potential security breach in the port area.
