Pakistani nationals in Odisha ordered to leave after Pahalgam attack

Bhubaneswar, April 26: Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government has ordered Pakistani nationals living on long-term visas to leave the country. In Odisha, several have received ‘Leave India’ notices.
Sarada Kukreja, a Pakistani national residing in Balangir for over 35 years, has been asked to leave despite her Indian family ties and voter ID. She pleaded not to be separated from her family. Similarly, Nagma Yusuf, who has lived in Bhubaneswar since 2008 after marrying an Odia man, also received an exit notice. Her visa had expired, and her exit permit was recently approved.
Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena confirmed that one Pakistani citizen had completed exit formalities and must leave by April 27. Razia Sultana, living in Balasore for 30 years, was also issued a notice. Authorities have warned of legal action for non-compliance.
Reports suggest around 12 Pakistani nationals in Odisha are impacted by the directive aimed at tightening security following the attack.
