IMD issues yellow warning for thunderstorms in Odisha from April 8

Bhubaneswar, April 6: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h starting April 8. The weather conditions are expected to occur during the afternoon and evening hours.
As per the IMD’s midday weather bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two places in districts such as Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput. The rest of the state is expected to experience dry weather on April 8.
On April 9, similar weather conditions are expected to expand to more regions. Rain or thundershowers are likely in districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur.
The yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds remains in effect for these areas.
On April 10, scattered showers and thunderstorms may affect parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
