IndiGo launches daily direct flights between Jharsuguda and Mumbai

Bhubaneswar, March 1: In a major boost to regional air connectivity, IndiGo on Saturday commenced daily direct flight services between Jharsuguda and Mumbai, linking Odisha’s industrial hub with India’s financial capital. The inaugural flight landed at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda in the afternoon, marking a significant milestone for the region’s aviation sector.
As per the flight schedule, the IndiGo service departs from Mumbai at 10:55 am and reaches Jharsuguda at 1:00 pm. The return flight takes off at 2:00 pm and lands in Mumbai at 4:15 pm. Operated by an Airbus A320 with a seating capacity of around 180 passengers, the flight will run seven days a week. While the current schedule is set, future adjustments remain possible.
With this new route, Jharsuguda is now directly connected to Mumbai in addition to existing links with New Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Other airlines, including Star Air and Alliance Air, already offer flights to cities like Hyderabad, Raipur, and Lucknow. This improved connectivity is expected to drive economic growth and tourism in western Odisha.
