Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: A female doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Daraghabazar, Cuttack, on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Dr. Alaka Rath.

According to sources, Dr. Rath had been living with her family and was reportedly suffering from prolonged mental distress. On Friday morning, her family members discovered her hanging inside the house and immediately alerted the police.

Upon receiving the information, a team from Daraghabazar police station arrived at the scene and recovered the body. The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine whether it was a case of suicide or if foul play was involved.

Authorities are also considering the possibility of involving a forensic team to analyze the circumstances surrounding her death. Further details will be revealed once the investigation progresses. The incident has left the local medical fraternity and residents in shock, as they await clarity on the tragic demise of Dr. Rath.
