Police recreate crime scene to unravel 'Spider Satish' burglary at Niranjan Patnaik’s house

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday conducted a detailed crime scene recreation to understand how notorious burglar 'Spider Satish' executed a high-profile theft at the residence of Niranjan Patnaik, former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president.
Satish, who is infamous for his daring building-scaling techniques, is currently under three-day police remand. As part of their investigation, police took him to the crime scene to retrace his steps, illustrating how he broke into Patnaik’s house and fled with valuables. The reconstruction aims to fill investigative gaps and gather critical evidence.
Known for his highly sophisticated burglary methods, Satish Reddy alias 'Spider Satish' used Google and YouTube to research affluent targets, specifically looking for houses with sliding windows for easier access. He took elaborate precautions, wearing gloves, shoes, and masks to prevent leaving fingerprints or getting caught on CCTV.
His wall-climbing skills earned him the 'Spider' nickname. Over the years, he adapted his methods, learning from past arrests. To evade police tracking, he used social media apps like Snapchat, which delete messages automatically. Investigators are now working to trace his network and past heists.
