Gun attack in Angul district leaves two critically injured

Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: A shocking incident occurred in Kanhei Nagar, under the Bantala police station in Angul district, where a man and his brother-in-law sustained serious bullet injuries after being shot at by armed miscreants. The victims, identified as 28-year-old Shibaram Naik and 40-year-old Bishnu Charan Naik, are residents of the Kanhai Nagar area.
The violent attack took place when Bishnu Charan and Shibaram were returning home from Angul town in an auto-rickshaw. Reports indicate that five miscreants on two motorcycles intercepted the vehicle near Bandurga in Kanhai Nagar, forcing it to stop before opening fire on the unsuspecting occupants. The attack left both men critically injured, with Bishnu Charan sustaining three gunshot wounds to his thighs and one to his stomach, while Shibaram was shot in the abdomen.
Bishnu Charan suggested that the shooting may be linked to a previous enmity. Due to the severity of their injuries, both victims were transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for urgent medical treatment. The Bantala police promptly arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident.
