Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: A violent clash broke out between two groups of spectators at Suka Parikhit Ashram under Kudanagari police limits in Kendrapara district over a dance performance by popular Jatra actress Nisha Maharana. The incident occurred during the Magha Mela celebrations, where Maharana was specially invited to perform.

According to reports, tensions arose when Maharana took the stage to perform an item number. A section of the audience strongly opposed the performance, leading to heated arguments. Despite the initial resistance, Maharana continued, but the situation soon escalated into a violent brawl between two rival groups.

Two members of the organizing committee sustained injuries in the clash and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The altercation also created panic among spectators, who had gathered in large numbers to enjoy the event.

Fearing for her safety, Maharana abandoned the performance and fled the venue, while other artists also left in fear of further violence. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety and security of performers at public events, prompting calls for stricter crowd management measures at such gatherings.
