Fourth phase of Subhadra Yojana Distributed in Jajpur

The first installment of the fourth phase of Subhadra Yojana was distributed in Jajpur today. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today distributed financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 to 18 lakh new beneficiaries under Odisha's largest women empowerment scheme Subhadra in Jajpur. This assistance amount has been transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT.
While 80 lakh women received the first installment in three phases earlier, including today, 98 lakh women have received assistance in four phases under Subhadra Yojana.
While distributing this assistance amount, the Chief Minister said that under Subhadra Yojana, a provision has been made to provide mothers with Rs. 50,000 in two installments of Rs. 10,000 per year for five years. The purpose of providing this assistance is to make mothers partners in development, and the Chief Minister has advised mothers to invest it in various businesses instead of using it for family expenses.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of Subhadra Yojana is to accelerate social progress by utilizing the power, potential and talent of women. For this, mothers will have to learn various business skills. They will also have to develop skills in various trades. The state government has affiliated itself with the World Skill Centre and IIM Sambalpur in the recently organized Akhtar Odisha program to develop the skills of mothers. Many more organizations will join it in the coming days. If mothers learn the art of business, they can become successful entrepreneurs, he said.
He said that the dream of a developed Odisha will be fulfilled with the social and economic progress of women. Through Subhadra Yojana, women are gaining a special identity in the society and are becoming aware of their rights. Subhadra Yojana will bring a world-changing change in the lives of Odisha mothers and sisters.
The Chief Minister again said that this Subhadra Yojana has made the dream of women empowerment a reality. The mothers and sisters of our state will be the leaders of a developed Odisha. Subhadra Yojana will increase the income of women and strengthen their contribution to the economic progress of the state.
The Chief Minister further said that while Jajpur district has earned the reputation of being an industrially rich district of Odisha, Jajpur has a special identity in all fields from the freedom struggle to art, literature, culture and tourism. Jajpur is leading the path of development today with its history. A total of more than 4.94 lakh mothers and sisters in the district have joined the Subhadra Yojana. Out of which, more than 3.75 lakh women have already received the first installment. Today, in the first installment of the fourth phase, this assistance was provided to more than 79 thousand beneficiaries in Jajpur district, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Parvathi Parida said at the program that Subhadra is not a scheme, it will be a means of livelihood for women in the coming days. The state government has always given priority to women for the welfare of women in the state. He said that all the mothers and sisters of Odisha will be strong with the power of Mother Subhadra.
On the occasion, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Cooperatives, Handicrafts and Textiles, Handicrafts Pradeep Bala Samanta, Kore, MLA Akash Das Nayak, Badachana MLA Amar Nayak, Dharamshala MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahu were prominently present and called the Subhadra Yojana of Odisha Government as the benchmark for the economic and social life of women.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Mrs. Shubha Sharma delivered the welcome speech while Jajpur District Magistrate Mrs. P. Anvesha Reddy proposed the vote of thanks.
