Panic at Kantabanji Railway Station after discovery of 12 bombs

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: Panic ensued at Kantabanji railway station in Odisha’s Bolangir district following the discovery of 12 bombs inside a railway wagon.
While the origin of these explosives remains unclear, preliminary reports suggest that they were manufactured at the Saintala Badmal Ammunition Factory located in the same district.
The bombs came to light when laborers were loading rice bags into the wagon. Alarmed by their discovery, the workers promptly alerted railway staff, who quickly notified their superiors about the unexpected find. After confirming that the bombs were indeed produced by the Badmal Ordinance Factory, officials arranged for their safe return.
Railway authorities at Kantabanji have been tight-lipped about the incident, stating that a high-level investigation is currently underway. The Station Master emphasized that staff members have been instructed not to disclose any details. He mentioned that senior officials are actively working to determine how the bombs ended up in the railway wagon and who was responsible for leaving them there.
