Puri Police apprehend youth for stealing valuables from luxury hotel during wedding

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: A 20-year-old youth, identified as Ritesh Sisodia from Kadia village in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district, was arrested by Puri police for stealing expensive items worth lakhs during a wedding celebration at a luxury hotel in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Reports indicate that Ritesh and his accomplice attempted to commit another theft at a wedding venue in Puri the following day. A vigilant security guard spotted Ritesh acting suspiciously while carrying a suitcase. Upon questioning, Ritesh attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by other guards, who then notified the Baliapanda police.
On the previous day, Ritesh and his friend had posed as guests at the wedding. In the midst of the celebration, one of them participated in a photoshoot with the bride, while the other kept a lookout. As the crowd thickened, the accomplice discreetly stole a gift bag containing cash and valuables that belonged to the bride's mother. After the theft, both fled the scene.
The bride’s family reported the incident to Maitri Vihar Police, who reviewed CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Ritesh was arrested while attempting to steal again in Puri, while his accomplice managed to escape. Authorities are actively searching for the second suspect.
