Puri gears up for New Year with enhanced security at Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: To ensure the safety and convenience of devotees during New Year celebrations, comprehensive security measures have been implemented in Puri town and at the Shree Jagannath Temple, according to Puri SP Vinit Agarwal.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, SP Agarwal emphasized that strict security arrangements have been put in place to manage the influx of devotees and tourists.
“Ahead of the New Year, we have ensured security across key areas, including inside and outside the temple, the sea beaches, and traffic zones, to provide a hassle-free experience for visitors,” said the SP.
He outlined parking arrangements for devotees, stating that visitors from Bhubaneswar will park at Jail Road Parking and Saradha Bali, those from Konark at Talabania Ground, and visitors from Brahmagiri at Jatrika Parking.
Key areas such as Medical Chowk, Lighthouse Chowk, Subhash Chowk, and Acharya Hari Har Chowk will be designated as no-vehicle zones, with only two-wheelers permitted. Four-wheelers will be restricted in these areas.
SP Agarwal urged devotees to cooperate with police and adhere to traffic rules for smooth celebrations.
