Woman’s mutilated body recovered near Kandarpur in Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: The blood-soaked body of a woman was discovered on the banks of a river near the Paramahansa area under Kandarpur police limits on Saturday morning, sparking concerns of a gruesome crime. The victim bore severe injuries, with deep gashes on her face and neck, suggesting a brutal assault.
A sharp-edged weapon, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered from the scene, reinforcing suspicions of a premeditated murder.
Upon being alerted, the Cuttack police, led by senior officers, arrived at the location and launched a thorough investigation. Efforts are underway to determine the victim's identity and the circumstances leading to the crime.
Of particular note, the woman’s left hand bore a distinctive tattoo reading “Om Baba Balia” in Odia, accompanied by the letters “pita kpsm.” Police believe these markings could provide crucial leads in the case.
Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena has appealed to the public to share any information that might assist in identifying the victim and solving the case.
