Police in twin cities get 30 high-tech emergency response vehicles
Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police has received 30 new Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) vehicles to enhance emergency response capabilities in the Twin City. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi formally handed over the vehicles at a ceremony on Thursday. These ERSS vehicles will serve both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack as part of a new initiative aimed at providing immediate medical assistance, ambulance services, and fire response.
The emergency response systems will operate under the ‘Dial 112’ service, offering both primary and supplementary assistance in fire and medical emergencies.
Equipped with advanced infrastructure, the new fleet includes oxygen tanks, stretchers, life-support systems, and first-aid kits, enabling police to deliver immediate healthcare assistance to accident victims. Additionally, these vehicles feature fire suppression systems, ladders, ropes, and life jackets for effective rescue operations during fires or natural disasters.
The vehicles also come with location-tracking technology to ensure swift and efficient responses. During the event, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of having a dedicated fleet of law enforcement personnel ready to act as first responders in critical security situations throughout the state.
