Sex racket busted in Bhubaneswar; four women rescued
Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: Commissionerate Police on Wednesday uncovered a sex racket operating in the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar and rescued four women who had been illegally trafficked. According to reports, a woman from Nayagarh orchestrated the trafficking and detained the victims at a house, forcing them into the illicit trade.
Based on a tip-off, Khandagiri police conducted a raid, freeing the women, all of whom are natives of Odisha. The house owner has been detained for questioning, and several objectionable items were seized from the premises as part of the investigation.
This incident follows a similar case in Cuttack, where a minor girl was rescued from the Madhupatna police limits after being forced into prostitution by agents. Authorities are intensifying efforts to crack down on such illegal activities and trafficking networks in the region to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of victims.
