Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Income Tax (IT) officials launched coordinated raids on multiple locations linked to a mining company in Odisha on Tuesday.

According to reports, searches are taking place at various sites connected to SN Mohanty Group in the mining hubs of Joda and Barbil in Keonjhar district. In addition, raids are being conducted at the company's corporate headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

The IT teams are targeting the company’s offices in Barbil, the residence of Managing Director Prabodh Mohanty in New Forest Park Colony, and the corporate office located in Forest Park, Bhubaneswar.

A total of six teams from the Income Tax Department are involved in the operation, scrutinizing the company’s documents. The company also operates an office in Kolkata, where IT raids are reportedly ongoing as well.

Officials are questioning the MD and other senior staff regarding the alleged evasion of Income Taxes. Further details are expected as the investigation unfolds.
